Week 11: Pluming, electrical and... kitchen arrives??

Plumbing didn't take long to rough in - Tony and Mario were done in about 3 days, and we'd had the system inspected and passed by Thursday.  Also passed were the framing and HVAC inspections, we we are pushing towards the insulation phase.... we just need the windows !?!?! :-).





For clarity sake, I painted the kitchen layout on the floor to give everyone an idea of the layout and to help the three main rough-in trades (HVAC, plumbing and electrical) get a feel for where things are going.  It seems like a really great size for the space.


Lastly, the open riser basement stairs arrived - they will look great when revealed!

In our third week, we took advantage of some nice weather and got the front and some of the main floor walls framed up.  Tom was also able to pour the extra height on the existing walls (bringing interior ceilings up to ten feet) and start the rear addition foundation.

Week 9: Basement Pour

While Kevin prepares the mast and meter box for electrical service (I love bungalows.... no waiting for exterior cladding to get our own electrical service!), Thom was busy prepping the basement.  He leveled, added a layer of 1.5 rigid foam continuous insulation, then made a little hole in the front for his chute.  By Thursday, he was ready to pour and by Friday we were walking on the new basement floor!
