Week 13: The No Screw Zone

The guys from Marsh's Fireplaces delivered and installed the cool linear fireplace.  They are very professional and did not crack a smile at my laughing at the painted warning on the bottom of the fireplace.  "Yes" the installer said, "even with signs, it's surprising where people will screw" (ok, he actually said "surprising where people will use screws" but come on man!

Jampa came in the next day to frame the fireplace surround.  Very cool!

Week 9: Basement Pour

While Kevin prepares the mast and meter box for electrical service (I love bungalows.... no waiting for exterior cladding to get our own electrical service!), Thom was busy prepping the basement.  He leveled, added a layer of 1.5 rigid foam continuous insulation, then made a little hole in the front for his chute.  By Thursday, he was ready to pour and by Friday we were walking on the new basement floor!

Week 3: Framed front, walls topped up

In our third week, we took advantage of some nice weather and got the front and some of the main floor walls framed up.  Tom was also able to pour the extra height on the existing walls (bringing interior ceilings up to ten feet) and start the rear addition foundation.
