Week 27: One Big Tile

Image
That's not an illusion...and my tile setter, Fred, is Italian (not tall :-)) but not THAT short!  These massive tiles will be installed on the face and sides of the fireplace.  You can see Fred's progress over three days below... Outside, Thom's crew has begun the exterior landscaping.  First up was the porch nosing, followed by the flag stone - painstakingly laid out and installed. Jampa has started the fence outside... after working out many neighbour "inputs" and "feedback".... I think I saw his head

Week 26: The Kitchen is IN

Image
Right on time, Marana Kitchens arrived to install the kitchen, master vanity and small built ins next to the fireplace. Dermot's installer, Michael, worked a long day and got all of the custom closets installed. The front hall has Komandor sliding doors... I love the look and quality of these doors!

Week 25: Paint Continues

Image
Trim and doors are now done... next were the ceilings.  Once those were done, Kevin came by and installed all of the pot lights in the house.  Looking good!

Week 24: Trim and Doors Installed

Image
Trim and doors are now complete and Mick has made good progress on painting.  The trim and doors should be painted by early next week.

Week 23: Basement Floors and Outside Touches

Image
Mick has covered all of the floors and Jampa has started installing the window trim, door frames and baseboards.  By week's end, he was just starting the floors. Meanwhile, the outside is getting to a state where we can start landscaping soon.  Caulking was done, garage door installed and the porch ceiling was finished with some prefinished faux-wood look vinyl.  Jampa got so ahead that he was able to start the vinyl floors in the basement.

Week 22: Flooring Complete

Image
Jampa started on the beautiful prefinished floors (sorry, no pic!) and Fred put the finishing touches on the wall tile in the three bathrooms that have tile.

Week 21: Tile setter starts

Image
Fred was in this week arranging the dry pack of the tiled areas in preparation for the floors to be done.  By week's end, he had all the floor tile in and was starting on the walls.
